Mike Jenniges and Jack Kinkel , founders of the band, started playing together in the mid 60s in San Antonio, San Marcos and Austin. They both played in different bands during the ‘60’s-‘70’s.Then when they both ended up in Austin in the early ‘70’s they started the ‘Weirloop Rhythm Band” . In the late’70’s the band name was changed to the Cedar Valley Band and has been that since. Cedar Valley Band has always been a country band with some ole time Rock n Roll thrown in. Cedar Valley Band has had members change over the years but always a female vocalist. We currently have seven members. Band members are Mike Jenniges (Lead guitar and vocals) , Jack Kinkel (Bass, vocals and sound guy , Christy Callaway (Vocals) , Cara Young ( Vocals and fiddle), Steve Gibson (Lead guitar, steel guitar and vocals ), John Slider (Drums) and Jerry Harrison (Rhythm guitar).
We currently have been playing in the Austin area at the 290W Club, Nutty Brown Café and private events in the local area. We are available for Private Parties, Wedding Receptions and Venue bookings. Call Jack Kinkel or Mike Jenniges to see if your booking date is available and cost.
